2010 – Participation in the POP UP LISBON 2010 event, from November 4th to December 11th, with the Project/Installation: INLAE - VENEREM HIC IACET (pre-test to 'The Rape of Atropos' from the author. The text presented here does not seek to explain the work, just revert to a state/thought.)

Abstract: ‘The rape of Atropos’, tells the story (author fiction) of the inflexibility of fate on affinity complex (Psyche) of the drives between two beings. Place, where the love that brought by the same incessant desires for alacrity and delight, finds himself in an irreversible pierced execution initiated by Atropos. An innate misfortune in the inexorable unfolding of the experience in demise (Thanatos), which accuses the opposition to the tension imposed by the stoic desire (Eros) from both, to a single perish as archetype, pure (Platonicus).”

Abstract: This article aims to reflect on the work of Sá Cabral, more specifically about his works in stainless steel. Using steel and human entrails as placenta and umbilical cord, an antithesis between materials and the feelings invoked by them, the artist / researcher focuses on the question of the trauma of birth and through the Other's demand to changes in the body art, science and medicine. A Freudian approach between the steel scalpel and mutations of the flesh.

“The life entrance is at the same time the biological birth and the step to the adult condition. The birth is the first stage in the life path of an unfinished organism. His incomplete being is observed rather is the physiologic structure like in the tendency character compared to the instinct. Such is the biologic basis of the human project, just as the intersubjectivity whose first structure is the dual relation, Mother/child. This relation has a vital necessity of maintain the close union, afterwards the physic separation, like the intrauterine life prolongation. With the umbilical cordon cut rite, final process of separation physic, we give beginning to the breaking-off of that profound entailment, like an wound without hopeless, who mark the entire destiny. Origin of the fusion desire never fulfill, for the anguish to the absence of the beloved person feeling. (...)”
